Trump pulls invitation to National Football League champions Eagles over anthem

Trump lawyers challenge Mueller probe in letter

The misrepresentation came after news broke of President Donald Trump's decision to cancel the Eagles' trip to the White House-a tradition for a championship-winning team of a major sport.

"Sports are not a distraction from politics - they are politics by a different means", said University of Southern California sociologist Ben Carrington.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Tuesday that Trump viewed the move as a political stunt. "Unfortunately, only a small number of players made a decision to come, and we canceled the event".

"This is going to be a blanket statement, and then I'm not going to discuss it further", Pederson said at his Wednesday morning news conference.

The White House released a statement on Monday banning the Eagles from participating in the traditional visit.

"Simply (G) oogle: "How many Philadelphia Eagles knelt during the national anthem last season" and you find the answer is zero", Jenkins wrote on Twitter with the hashtag #TheFightContinues.

No matter whose team wins the National Basketball Association championship, neither superstar will be at the White House anytime soon.

The White House's recent attacks on the Eagles and the National Football League as a whole indicate that this battle is far from over. The people of our country love you.

Veteran defensive end Chris Long, who donated his $1 million salary a year ago to charity, said the Eagles weren't trying to make a political statement. "I think we're a team, we're moving forward and we're on our way to minicamp". And that's what I think has been happening up until this point.

"We're united. We're a team".

Jesper Zølck of TV 2 Denmark reported that the man left shortly after kneeling and did not give his name nor say anything.

Trump has feuded with National Football League players over the past year, blasting on-field protests in which players sat or kneeled during the national anthem to protest racial bias in the USA criminal justice system amid accusations of excessive use of force against black people by police. Though they may have to confront the question of whether to go to the White House, for most of the players, their patriotism would not be at issue.

"I do have an absolute right to pardon myself, but I'll never have to do it because I didn't do anything wrong and everybody knows it", said President Trump.

The second one gave the number of people shot and killed by police this year, and the sign pointed to the glaring statistical difference of African-American men in the U.S. population and the percentage of people killed by police who are black males.
