First-half goals from Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard set Belgium on their way to a 3-0 win against Egypt in a pre-World Cup friendly at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels on Wednesday.

Salah is now bidding to recover as quickly as possible as he looks to make himself available for this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation, which is set to get under way next Friday. During their final training camp, Egypt played two other friendlies as they drew with Kuwait and Colombia. "We managed to take control of the match and scored an early goal which made things easier for ourselves", Hazard told ON Sport, as per Goal.

The defeat was Egypt's final warmup before Russian Federation, while Belgium plays Costa Rica on Monday. "I think we are quite the same - it is 50-50 - England have a lot of good players, we also have good players so we will see".

Nigeria turned in a disappointing performance in their final tune-up, losing 1-0 to the Czech Republic who failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Marouane Fellaini added a third in stoppage-time to complete a strong performance by the hosts, who underlined their status as one of the favourites in Russian Federation. "Their playing style is close to that of Tunisia", Hazard said.

The Liverpool forward is a major doubt for the upcoming tournament as a result of the shoulder injury he sustained during last month's Champions League final. "We all wish him a speedy recovery and we want to see him in the World Cup".

What's more, the former Lillie man even revealed he will be supporting Hector Cuper's side purely because of his relationship with Liverpool sensation Salah, who he played with briefly at Stamford Bridge.

Belgium continued to dominate after the interval and midfielder Fellaini added a third in stoppage time, after some clever footwork from Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi. They will then battle host nation Russian Federation on June 19 and then Saudi Arabia on June 25.

Belgium manager Roberto Martinez also shared some words for Salah after Wednesday night's comfortable victory.

Their first game will be against Uruguay on Friday June 15.

The 27-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "We know what we are".
