Wynne admits she won't win provincial election

Kathleen Wynne says she won’t be Ontario premier, urges voters to ensure an NDP or PC minority government
As party leader and subsequently Premier, Wynne quickly set about shifting Liberal policies and ideology firmly to the left.
Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath had a blunt reaction to Kathleen Wynne's stunning concession, days before the provincial election ends, that the governing Liberals won't be re-elected.
Ford has said a Tory government would run deficits for the first two or three years, but his plan doesn't spell out the size of those deficits, a path to balance or a way to start paying down the debt.
"When you're being bullied you have to stand up to the bully", she said.
"I'm disappointed personally", says Rhodes, about Wynne's announcement this morning, but goes on to say "I think that this hopefully helps voters make that decision".
Like a true political chameleon, she'll do and say whatever she thinks will win her votes.
She declined, however, to endorse either the Tories or the NDP, nor would she comment on the possibility of strategic voting, a perennial issue in elections where voters appear to be clamouring for change.
"Now, a vote for Kathleen Wynne and a vote for Doug Ford mean the same thing".
People who told us they planned to vote for the NDP that year divided about half and half between the Liberals and Conservatives as their second choice; Conservative voters gave the Liberals their second choice by a two-to-one margin over the NDP, and Liberal voters gave their second choice to the PCs by about the same margin.
Wynne says whichever way the vote goes, people should hope for a minority win to keep the government "from acting too extreme - one way or the other". "What really causes concern is that we have a leader who is trying to become Prime Minister in this province, and he is not being honest with people".
Should the New Democrats win office after the June 7 election, Ms. Horwath said she would call for an all-party committee to look into the situation.
With poll data indicating the possibility of a PC or NDP minority government, Bortolin told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com this is the latest example of Wynne's ability to make the tough calls.
Omar Khan, a Liberal executive council member, said the party is now working on maintaining official party status. They will fight for your votes.
"We must work domestically to make Ontario and Canada more competitive".
"They're going to be choosing a person to lead them who will be in some very tricky, very delicate negotiations with US officials", Wynne said.
One could have concluded the NDP had very little likelihood of success in that circumstance, but 13 years later, in 1990, they formed the government.
With the election roughly a week away, Wynne travelled to the heart of her NDP rival's riding on Wednesday to portray herself as the only seasoned stateswoman in the campaign capable of rising above the ideological fray.
The Liberal Party has been trailing a distant third in recent polls, and Wynne's popularity has been low.
