Netflix releases Sense8 series finale trailer ahead of June airdate

Sense8 is coming back for one last special
Last year, Netflix caused quite a stir when it made a decision to cancel Sense8 - a series created by Lana Wachowski, Lilly Wachowski, and J. Michael Straczynski - after just two seasons.
"I wish I could cluster with you to share some of the handsome moments, the hugs, tears and laughter, as well as the insightful and humbling conversations I have had with the people who have connected to this show", wrote series co-creator Lana Wachowski in June a year ago after the finale had been greenlit. So if you're one of said collective, log onto Netflix on June 8 to experience one final adventure with the sensates.
That's especially true when you consider that this finale nearly never happened. Season two ended with Wolfgang in a precarious position, and as Will says in the trailer, "Wolfgang needs us". But when you have a show that appeals to a minority of audiences rather than the broader market, whether it was designed that way or not, it's only a matter of time before its runway runs out.
The sci-fi, empathy-driven series was cancelled a month after its second season was released last May.
"The outpouring of love and grief that came in the wake of the news that "Sense8" would not be continuing was so intense that I often found myself unable to open my own email", co-creator Lana Wachowski wrote on Twitter when Netflix relented to the pressure. We'll see if any of that changes for the better when Sense8's finale premieres on June 8.
