The Broadway actress was seven months pregnant at the time, with the baby due later this month.

The 35-year-old Tony Award victor and husband Jonathan Blumenstein announced that the have lost their unborn child just two months after their 4-year-old daughter Abigail was tragically killed by a auto back in March.

Her daughter Abigail Blumenstein was killed in Brooklyn, New York.

"The pain suffered by Ruthie and Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom", Rubinowitz said.

Lawyer Ben Rubinowitz said this death of the unborn baby is the result of the same car-hit tragedy on March 5.

In March, Brooklyn police say Miles and her friend Lauren Lew, also from Hawaii, were walking in a marked crosswalk with their children when a vehicle ran a red light.


The musical theatre performer, who won a Tony Award for her role in The King And I, was 39 weeks pregnant with partner, Jonathan Blumenstein on Friday, when she lost her baby.

At around 12:40pm, the 44-year-old female driver in question ran over Abigail and dragged Lauren's one-year-old son Josh over 100 feet down the road, while he was still in his pushchair.

A city housing authority worker was hit six months prior to the fatal accident, with Bruns leaving the woman injured and driving away from the crime scene.

The driver of the auto, Dorothy Burns, has been charged with manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and assault and reckless driving.

The driver told police she had experienced a seizure at the time of the crash.

According to state laws regarding homicide, Bruns will not face additional charges now that Blumenstein has lost her unborn daughter.
