ALLAN McGREGOR has completed his Rangers return by accepting a two-year deal.

The 37-year-old, who will be joined at the Ibrox Stadium by former Reds midfielder Gary McAllister, has his sights set on attacking reinforcements.

He was named Hull City's player of the year this season but chose to turn down the offer of an extension with the English Championship club.

McGregor has 38 Scotland caps and his form was rewarded with a recall from Alex McLeish recently.

Steven Gerrard landed Scott Arfield from Burnley on a four-year deal earlier this week.

"He is vastly experienced goalkeeper who we feel can add to the options available to us now", Gerrard told the club website.

McGregor started his career at Rangers and played over 200 games for the Glasgow giants.

In his first spell with Rangers he won 11 major trophies, including a hat-trick of league titles in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

The 36-year-old Scotland worldwide keeper was out of contract at Hull and knocked back the offer of an extension.

"I'm buzzing to be back, I can not keep the smile off my face".

"I started training here when I was 12 years old and used to come through the main stand maybe twice a week".

"I need to sit down with Steven and go through every single thing in detail, we're doing everything on the telephone at the moment because he's not here".

The Premier League side turned down a £600,000 bid for the centre-back yesterday and are likely to want more than £1m. However, he spent a season in Turkey before signing for Hull City in 2013.
