Wife of PGA golfer Lucas Glover arrested on domestic violence charges

US Open victor Lucas Glover's wife has been arrested for attacking him over his poor play at The Players Championship.

Krista Glover, the wife of the surprise 2009 US Open victor, was arrested at a house where the couple was staying during the tournament, following an altercation with her husband.

TMZ attained details of the incident involving Glover, his wife Krista, and his mother.

Golf World reported that a document from the St Johns County Sheriff's department states Lucas was berated by his wife for his poor play (he shot a third-round 78 for a MDF - made cut, did not finish).

According to the report, Lucas' mother had cuts on her arms and blood on her chest when cops arrived ... and said Krista had attacked both her and Lucas.

The 38-year-old golfer, best known for his 2009 win at the U.S. Open and the 2011 Wells Fargo Open, did tell authorities that his wife had been drinking all day. If found guilty, she could face up to one year in jail on each misdemeanor count.

Once Glover was in the auto, the report says she "began screaming while forcefully kicking the rear driver's side door ... causing the door to visibly separate from the cell of the door frame".

Lucas Glover released a statement on his Twitter account regarding the incident.

Police said Conley Glover "resisted" being brought to the patrol auto and being placed inside, including an attempt to "wrap her legs and feet around the door and frame of the vehicle".

"Wait till the tour hears about this", Krista reportedly said. "Wait till I talk with the judge, you will be f--ing fired over this". "My wife and mother were involved in an argument to which the police were called", Glover opened.

Lucas took to Twitter Tuesday to acknowledge there was argument and that "everyone is fine".

"Regrettably, although Krista was charged, we are comfortable that the judicial system is able to address what actually happened and Krista will be cleared in this private matter". She said she was trying to break up a fight between her son and his wife when her daughter-in-law attacked her instead. "Of course, we are here to provide support to Lucas and his family if needed; however, we are also respecting their request for privacy during this time".
