The TeslaModel X, which is known for its autonomous driving system and the Ludacris mode which makes it as quick as supercars has just claimed a Guinness World Record.
A Telsa might be now flying through space on its way to Mars, but in Melbourne today, Elon Musk's electric vehicle produced another first when it set a Guinness World Record attempt, as the heaviest tow by an electric production passenger vehicle, towing a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner along the tarmac. Qantas Airways, which owns the aircraft in question, revealed that this was the first time that a production electric vehicle towed a passenger aeroplane.
Tesla along with Qantas came together for a more updated take on the same stunt. The TeslaModel X P100D's electric motor generates an impressive 1,072Nm of torque. Tesla owners who are apart of Qantas' Frequent Flyer program will have their mileage offset in their vehicles as well as their flight miles for the month of June as part of their Future Planet Program.
