Britain and the European Union remain committed to the preservation of the nuclear deal with Iran, despite the United States desire to revise the Treaty.

Last week, United States President Donald Trump said that the USA would withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal, a landmark agreement signed in 2015.

Bolton also repeated the administration's objection to the sunset provisions in the Iran deal, which President Donald Trump had called?totally unacceptable?, reported CNN.

"The consequences of American sanctions go well beyond goods shipped by American companies, " Bolton said.

Their efforts focus on nine key areas including maintaining economic ties with Iran, continuing Iran's ability to sell oil and gas products and protecting European Union companies doing business in Iran.

"The difference is that China has more companies that are isolated from the USA market - and possible sanctions", said King's College London security fellow Dina Esfandiary, according to the Washington Post. "It depends on the conduct of other governments".

Trump directed his administration to "immediately begin the process of re-imposing sanctions" related to the deal, a White House statement said. "They will never abandon the U.S. for us", said housewife Poormoslem at a protest against Trump on Friday.

So far, China, France, Russia, Britain, Germany and Iran remain in the accord, which placed controls on Iran's nuclear program and relaxed some sanctions against Iran.

With German Chancellor Angela Merkel warning that faith in the worldwide order is at stake, Germany, France and the United Kingdom are embarking on a diplomatic mission to salvage what they can of the accord, both to keep Iran on side and to shield European companies from USA sanctions that threaten billions of dollars of investment.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has met with European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini as the Europeans seek to keep the Iran nuclear agreement. "The answer is no", Mr Le Maire told reporters.

In a statement Tuesday, Boris Johnson said the United Kingdom remains "fully committed to upholding" the deal, and is working with France and Germany to "explore the best way forward".

France's foreign minister had said on Friday he had asked for exemptions or longer grace periods for the exit of French companies such as oil-and-gas giant Total SA and vehicle maker Peugeot SA that have returned to the Iranian market since the 2015 nuclear accord.

The development came as Iran's foreign minister said he was hopeful of forging a "clear future design" for the pact, while speaking in Beijing at the start of a diplomatic tour aimed at rescuing it.

Germany, France and Britain want talks to be held in a broader format to include Iran's ballistic missile programme and its regional military activities, including in Syria and Yemen.

"I think you have to start first with the fundamental deficiencies of the deal itself", Bolton said.

This, along with its diplomatic moves to orchestrate an end to the Syrian conflict, has put Moscow at loggerheads with the U.S. and Europe, which have intervened against the regime.

As he arrived in Beijing, Zarif said Tehran was "ready for all option [s]", according to the semi-official ISNA news agency.

Trump's unilateral withdrawal fom the Iran deal would increase tensions in the Middle East and fuel an arms race.

She said: "Boris Johnson will be here in Brussels together with the foreign ministers of Germany and France to work together to preserve a deal we have achieved together - also with Russian Federation and China - and we will save it together".
