For price conscious Indian travellers, worldwide air travel is becoming more affordable.

Iceland's budget airline Wow Air has announced "cheapest flights" to multiple North American destination and Europe via Reykjavik from December this year.

To promote the India service, Wow Air is offering $199 one-way fares from St. Louis to Delhi.

Service to Delhi will be available from nine United States cities - Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL).

The airline has announced an introductory basic fare of Rs 13,499 to the Keflavik airport in Iceland's capital and from there to other destinations in North America and Europe, a PTI report said. And just a 125 mile road trip from Delhi is the Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Flights on Wow Air come with plenty of caveats: The airline is budget, after all, so you'll be subject to layers of fees and seating classes.

For more information and bookings, visit WOW's website.

Service will be available through nine airports including St. Louis Lambert International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport. The one-way fares only apply when accompanied by a return booking. You will be charged for carrying any additional baggage.

WOW air offers the lowest fares, a modern fleet with the lowest emissions and the biggest smile; this is the WOW air promise to its valuable customers.

Wow Air, which would be flying an Airbus A330 Neo to India and operate five days a week, now serves 39 destinations across Europe and North America including London, Paris, New York, Toronto, Baltimore, San Francisco and Chicago. According to the airline, it is offering fare at this price to Keflavik airport and from there to other destinations in North America and Europe. WOW's will be the first long haul low cost route in and out of India.
