Report: Cardinals 2nd-round pick Christian Kirk was arrested prior to draft

Report: Christian Kirk arrested for drunken behavior following golf tournament in Phoenix

This, according to a report from azcentral.com.

Kirk was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and property damage in Scottsdale, Ari. on february 3.

Wide receiver Christian Kirk was arrested in February and charged with disorderly conduct and damaging property on Feb. 3, almost three months before the Arizona Cardinals selected him with a second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Kirk and another man were arrested and charged with criminal damage to a auto before being released.

The men told police they were walking from the Bird's Nest, a popular party spot that is open in conjunction with the tournament every year, to Kirk's apartment and denied throwing rocks. The team said it was aware of the arrest and comfortable with the situation at the time that the story came out.

After the draft, Arizona said it knew about a hazy arrest.

The Cardinals drafted Kirk in the second round. "Our understanding is that the process will be resolved in the near future but while it remains an active legal matter, we won't comment further". "And as I stated before, we want to bring in great character guys, and I think Christian is one of those guys".

Kirk has no previous records of trouble in high school or college. "We're not going to worry about getting a phone call in the middle of the morning that someone out in Scottsdale is doing something insane". The former Aggie standout was a five-star recruit out of Scottsdale's Saguaro High before he signed with A&M and former coach Kevin Sumlin.
