The Kashmiri woman had alleged that she was physically assaulted by a mob

A video of a Kashmiri woman being mercilessly beaten in south-east Delhi last night while no one came for her help has emerged online.

"The complainant is an avid dog lover and animal right activist".

Two days after a group of Kashmiri people was thrashed by a mob in Sunlight Colony near New Delhi's Maharani Bagh, the Delhi police on Saturday registered an FIR. In a video clip on social media, a wounded woman, her back to a auto, screams as she is beaten with hockey sticks.

A video also went viral after the incident which shows some people, including women, arguing with the victims and assaulting them.

Patnaik said the alleged attack in Sunlight colony had nothing to do with the origin of the J&K victims.

Earlier, a Kashmiri man living in the colony had filed a complaint accusing a group of residents of carrying out a planned attack on him and four women, including his sister, while they were walking in the street after dinner on Thursday night.

He said that they were roughed up and the accused were shouting slogans, "Kashmiri terrorists should be sent back".

Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said: "We have registered a case on charges of sexual harassment, making sexually-coloured remarks, criminal intimidation and using words and acts meant to insult the modesty of women against the accused".

One of the neig-hbours said one of the Kashmiri men "misbehaved with women" and the fight started because of it.

The Kashmiri family has alleged that the police had been aware of the situation for a while but never took any action. The MHA has been informed that the reason of assault was local, which was triggered by a dispute over feeding stray dogs. "The incident on Thursday too was a fall out of a number of arguments that had taken place earlier", said Tauqeer. "We have not been given police protection even after the incident", he said.

Talking about the hockey sticks in their hands, the residents claimed that they had the sticks because of dogs menace. They claimed we thrashed her.it is all lies.
