Retro Studios Developing Star Fox Racing Game for Switch - Rumor

New Star Fox Games

The arrival of a new form of Star Fox could signal some new popularity for the series though, and that's worth a celebratory barrel roll no matter what.

While we already knew renowned developer Retro Studios isn't working on Metroid Prime 4, it looks like the Texas-based video game developer is creating a new Star Fox title dubbed Star Fox Grand Prix for the Nintendo Switch, according to new leaks.

Rumors of the game have been swirling for several months in light of talk from some sources that Retro Studios' title has been struggling, with many at both Retro and Nintendo growing frustrated with the state of the project. The tentative name of the rumored game is Star Fox Grand Prix.

This rumor was also backed by someone on 4chan who exclaimed to this saying,"all true" alongside he posted a logo of Star Fox.

Not much else is known at this point, although Eurogamer has also corroborated the initial murmurs on Star Fox Grand Prix, so it sounds like it may have a good chance of actually happening.

It has been four years since Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze rolled out in Wii U and at that time, the producer Kensuke Tanabe did confirm that Retro Studio was working in a new game.

We reached to Nintendo for comment and will update if we receive word on this rumor. Then there was a GameFaqs list that predicted more details about Nintendo's Online Service, but included a ton of information that didn't seem credible. Something like Diddy Kong Racing mixed with F-Zero essentially. It's possible that this could be revealed during E3 2018, or maybe we're in the very early stages and it will be a long time until we hear anything.
