Mental Health America Offers Solutions For Mental Illness
Mental health affects 1 in 5 Americans and stigma creates a toxicity to the individual causing shame, fear and silence preventing the individual from seeking treatment. The National Alliance on Mental Illness reports that 1 in 5 adults in the US experiences mental illness in a given year, and almost 1 in 25 adults in the USA lives with a serious mental illness, while approximately 1 in 5 teens (ages 13 to 18) experiences a severe mental disorder at some point during their life.
This community-wide, high-energy family/pet-friendly event brings together diverse agencies from across Tucson and Pima County to deliver useful information about mental health in a fun, informal setting.
