Classic SEGA games are coming to the Switch

And the latest announcement concerns some new retro titles being brought to Nintendo's latest console. The company previously stated that over 15 games are now planned. The company also confirmed yesterday that Sonic the Hedgehog (Mega Drive version), Phantasy Star (PlayStation 2 version) and Thunderforce IV (Sega Saturn version) will also be coming.
This is quite interesting as according to the magazine Nintendo's next Pokemon title for the Switch will have some new mechanics, this raises the question at what classic mechanics will be changed and what will be added in replacement. We've seen developers take advantage of the Switch's popularity by raising the cost of some popular games that get ported to the console, but we imagine that these games will be available for a comparable price.
"Sega Ages, the original series that brought classic games to modern consoles, is being rebooted for Nintendo Switch".
SEGA Ages is a series of classic SEGA titles being released on the Nintendo Switch.
Sega Ages series producer Kagasei Shimomura is quoted as saying that he wants to expand the official lineup past the now confirmed retro games being worked on.
The first round of Sega Ages titles hit the Nintendo Switch this summer.
"We will extend this initiative to the Saturn and Dreamcast with your continued support", he is quoted as telling the crowd at Sega Fes 2018.
Still, we're a bit surprised that there doesn't seem to be any plans in place to just release a compilation of classic Sega games for the Switch instead of these individual titles. Two other games - Ground Gain and Thunder Force IV - will be included in the 15-game collection.
