C.J. Anderson released by Broncos should Dolphins sign RB

The Denver Broncos have released running bank C.J. Anderson, the National Football League announced on Twitter Monday.

He rushed for a career-high 1,007 yards with three touchdowns.

Anderson was scheduled to make $4.5 million in 2018, however, he didn't have any dead money in his contract so his release cost the team nothing against the cap.

Talib was soon shipped to the Los Angeles Rams and now Anderson is a free agent. The veteran running back broke the 1,000 rushing yard mark for the first time against the Kansas City Chiefs in December. He was instrumental in their Super Bowl 50 win over the Carolina Panthers in 2015 as he had 23 carries for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Denver is releasing Anderson after a career year for the running back.

Anderson's release leaves Devontae Booker and De'Angelo Henderson as the only running backs on the roster. Anderson added 224 receiving yards on 28 catches. Miami now has veteran Frank Gore and Kenyan Drake in their backfield.
