Survey Finds iPhones Are More Popular With Teens Than Ever

Screen replacement may trigger sensor failure on iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X

IPhone users complained of broken screens

Aside from the new red glass back, red aluminum trim and black bezels, the Product (RED) iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are the same as last year's models.

Come in a stunning red finish, both phones sport a lovely glass enclosure, now in red, with a matching aluminium band and a sleek black front.

The iPhone 8 Product Red Special Edition comes with a price tag of $699 (Rs 67,940 in India) for the 64GB storage variant and $849 (Rs. 81,500 in India) for the 256GB option.

Alongside, (PRODUCT) RED Apple is also releasing a new iPhone X Leather Folio, also available from today. They also feature some of our more loved iPhone 8 features: the dual 12-megapixel camera, Portrait mode, wireless charging, and more!

The source mentions that users can see the contents of the display (the homescreen) but cannot interact with it, rendering their iPhone 8 unusable, hopefully until a software fix arrives.

At least one United States law firm announced its intention to bring a class action against Apple on behalf of iPhone owners whose handsets were crippled.

The (PRODUCT) RED iPhone X Leather Folio is made from specially tanned and finish European leather. Unsurprisingly, Apple, as before, seems to have found a way to discourage that practice by disabling touch functionality on iPhone 8 units running the latest iOS 11.3 whose screens have been repaired and replaced by unauthorized third-parties. According to Apple, the company has donated $160 million since partnering with the Fund in 2006, and is the Fund's largest corporate donor.

IPhone users complained of broken screens

Apple iPhone 7 (Product) Red series came with a crimson-hued shell and white accents on the front, but many fans and critics had expressed dislike for the red and white combination.

Unfortunately, the red version is not available for Apple's most popular phone now, the iPhone X.

The touch functionality on iPhone 8 smartphones with third-party screens worked fine before the iOS 11.3 update.

The phones will be in official stores on Friday 13th April in the following countries, Singapore, China, Japan, UK and US.

The problem stems from users that sought third-party repairs for their broken iPhone 8 displays.

Apple on Monday announced iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in red colour as part of its partnership with Product (RED), an advocacy group dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS in Africa.
