Rumor: New Xbox backward-compatible games include Morrowind, Destroy All Humans
We've reached out to Microsoft to confirm if those Xbox games are indeed coming to the Xbox Onebackward compatibility list today, and what else might be added to the library.
Microsoft has now confirmed MX Unleashed is indeed one of the new original Xbox titles to support the Xbox One backwards compatibility feature. Original Xbox games began being added as well during the 2017 E3 conference.
Thanks to the Xbox Marketplace, it may have slipped that four Original Xbox games may be coming to the Xbox One very soon.
We have the first batch of games for backward compatibility rolling out on April 17 and then later on April 26. That means fans will likely be able to pick up Morrowind for the Xbox One for just $9.99, which is quite a bit cheaper than purchasing a physical Xbox copy. Failing that, you can purchase them from the Xbox Store if you don't own the games.
The contemporary of the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, the original Xbox didn't have a long life or a particularly long list of exclusives, but it did usually have the best versions of multiformat games. However, it remains to be seen if this was the "big announcement" Microsoft was promising for its Inside Xbox presentation tonight.
