Sarasota Sheriff Video captured a road rage incident in Sarasota Fla. where a driver intentionally rams a motorcyclist off the road
The video shows biker Darin Hendrickson getting close to a Mazda after the driver reportedly threw a coin at him.
The crash happened at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday near the intersection of Beneva Road and Riviera Drive in Sarasota, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. A witness had recorded the incident on a cell phone and deputies are looking for the other driver involved.
Police have charged a teenager with risky driving after a road rage incident in Napier last night.
The video shows a man riding a motorcycle behind a gray Mazda 3 hatchback. "You see me following him to a stopping point to get his information or get him to pull over".
Video showed the vehicle hitting the biker, leaving him tumbling onto the sidewalk.
In the video, Hendrickson can be seen dragged along by the Mazda as it sped off. Hendrickson told WFTS that the Mazda driver had taken a handful of change and tossed it at him.
The motorcyclist suffered a fractured rib and needed several staples in his knee.
Hendrickson was wedged between the vehicle and motorcycle before briefly being dragged by the auto, according to the video footage.
The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that in a short 22-second clip can be seem veering sharply right and sideways toward, and crashing into, a motorcyclist, throwing the bike and rider. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 941-861-4317.
