She wondered why soldiers were withdrawn from Dapchi shortly before the attack thereby making it easy for the terrorists to attack the school and abduct the schoolgirls.

"Use of force, as the only option, will result in death of numerous girls while negotiation provides for their safe return".

"I want to reiterate our resolved to negotiate for the unconditional release of the girls".

Secretary Dapchi Youth Development Association, Alhaji Baba Shehu, also described the negotiation option as a healthy development.

He said it's among his campaign promises to overcome insecurity, corruption and improve the country's economy. While expecting the report of the Committee set up to investigate the abduction for implementation, I have asked that appropriate Federal Government authorities be in constant touch with the Yobe State Government and other neighbouring States to ensure a common strategy and line of action.

Buhari told Tillerson that negotiations were underway, in concert with global organisations to secure the release of hundreds of school girls captured by Boko Haram terrorists.

The President pledged free and fair polls in 2019, recalling that the then American Secretary of State, John Kerry, had visited before the 2015 polls, "and he told the party in government then, and those of us in opposition, to behave ourselves, and we did".

"We transferred the Senior Secondary three to Government Girls College, Nguru to enable them write their SSCE final year examinations".

"How was it that 110 children were transported in a convoy of vehicles for more than twenty-four hours over distance of hundreds of kilometres without their abductors encountering any Nigerian military or police security roadblocks?"

"We are trying very hard to provide jobs, for our youths".

The two men discussed the use of negotiations to bring back the abducted schoolgirls, the statement said, adding that Nigeria was working together with global organizations and negotiators, to ensure that the girls are released unharmed by their captors.
