Gas Prices Drop 2.5 Cents In Chattanooga

The price of a gallon of gas is headed higher this spring. Prices jumped across the Great Lakes region since last week as refinery maintenance shutdowns began. Some analysts say consumers could see stations post $3-a-gallon prices by summer and to average

According to AAA, gas prices in metro Detroit are up about 4 cents to $2.56 per gallon, which was also up 3 cents per gallon last week.

Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday that the prior price drop was halted by a rise in crude oil costs.

States with the lowest average prices last week included:SC ($2.24); MS and Alabama ($2.25); Missouri ($2.26); Arkansas ($2.27); Texas ($2.28); Tennessee ($2.29); Kentucky, Louisiana, and Oklahoma ($2.31).

Gasoline prices in Lancaster County fell for the fifth straight week last week, a new survey says. Including the change in gas prices in Sacramento during the past week, prices yesterday were 33.6 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 3.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. A year ago, drivers across the nation were paying an average of $2.30 for a gallon of regular gas.

Gasoline has averaged the highest price for March in four years. Modesto- $3.19/g, up 5.2 cents per gallon from last week's $3.13/g.

Honolulu- $3.34/g, flat from last week's $3.34/g. Crude oil is $14 per barrel more than previous year. Here's the lowest current prices being reported in Roseville.

In addition, crude storage levels are more than 100 million barrels lower than they were a year ago, demonstrating that growth in global crude demand may be helping to lower levels amid restricted output due to OPEC's production agreement. Market observers are likely to continue watching this number to see if it begins to outpace domestic and global crude oil demand.
