Joy Behar apologizes to Christians after Mike Pence's interview on "Hannity"

"It's another thing when Jesus talks to you", Ms. Behar said. "It's another thing when Jesus talks to you", added Behar. "Specifically, do you think, like Mrs. Hostin and Mrs. Behar, that the Christian faith is akin to a unsafe mental illness?"

Last week, Disney CEO Bob Iger told company shareholders that Behar had called Pence to apologize. "I'm still encouraging her, to use the forum of that program or some other public forum, to apologize to tens of millions of Americans who were equally offended".

Behar made a quip made hundreds of times, but Pence and the far-right went ballistic claiming that the comedian was mocking their faith. Co-host Sunny Hostin said, "I don't know that I want my vice president, um - speaking in tongues and having Jesus speak to him".

Behar said Tuesday she'd been raised to respect all faiths and that she fell short of that last month.

"Look, but I said to Joy, of course, I forgive you". "She picked up the phone".

Iger responded by saying that Behar had already apologized to Pence, which he believed was "absolutely appropriate".

While Behar called to apologize to Pence, he decided it wasn't enough.

Whoopi Goldberg, left, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, Cindy McCain and Meghan McCain during a broadcast of "The View" on ABC on February 28. He added, "It's just simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance". "I'm a great admirer of Mike Pence and his family", she said. "He encouraged her to make the same apology publicly on the show that she did privately to him". First of all, Joy Behar apologized to Vice President Pence directly.

"The bigoted statements made about the Vice President's Christian faith offended hundreds of millions of Christians across the country, the largest faith group in the United States", Bozell told Fox News.

Iger told the crowd he was "glad to hear" Behar apologized because he "takes exception" to what she said.
