Chiefs set to release Tamba Hali

The team made his release official Monday.

The Chiefs made these roster moves to clear up cap space to help bring in more players from the National Football League draft and in free agency.

The Chiefs asked Parker to take a pay cut but he declined, according to ESPN. What that tells is that they weren't completely down on Parker's play in 2017, that at the right price, they would like to have him back.

Hali, a first-round pick out of Penn State, was a five-time Pro Bowl selection and ends his time in Kansas City second on the team's all-time sack list behind only Derrick Thomas (89.5). However, he was released by the Seahawks before the 2011-12 campaign began and landed with the Oakland Raiders. Ron Parker is know for his ability to hit, and help anchor the secondary with Eric Berry.

Parker was a free-agent signee by the Chiefs in the 2013 and spent five seasons with the club. He has 318 total tackles in his Chiefs career, including 7 sacks. He had 67 tackles, two interceptions and four pass defenses last season.
