Southwest flight 3562 took off from Phoenix on Sunday night and was headed for Dallas Love Field Airport, according to KRQE-TV.
A flight made an emergency landing at a U.S. airport, sending panicked passengers leaping from a wing on to the ground after crew members screamed at them to get away from the aircraft, passengers and officials have said. Initial reports indicate five Customers requested an assessment by medical personnel.
Passengers were put on another aircraft in New Mexico to continue to their final destination.
A Dallas-bound flight was diverted to the Albuquerque International Sunport after smoke filled the aircraft's cabin.
When the plane finally landed, passengers evacuated the plane using the escape slides.
Fire officials in Albuquerque tweeted that two people were injured and taken to a hospital.
According to ABC affiliate KOAT, the people onboard the plane described the experience as scary. International Business Times has reached out to Southwest Airlines for a comment regarding the incident.
All remaining passengers boarded another plane and continued their journey to Dallas.
