Jeff Hardy Arrested For DWI After Traffic Incident

Hardy Boys Wrestle Mania 33 Hardys- Matt Hardy

According to CBS Sports, the 40-year-old wrestler crashed his 2016 Cadillac CTS-V sedan into a guardrail around 10:20 p.m. Saturday night, sliding for more than 100 feet before spinning out 90 degrees.

A rep for the Cabarrus County Sherriff's Office tells us Jeff was booked into custody on Saturday around 10:30 pm.

More details regarding the arrest came from CBS Sports and revealed that Hardy was driving northbound on Concord Parkway when he allegedly ran off the runway and struck a guardrail before the vehicle spun and stopped in the middle of the right northbound lane. Details on the circumstances leading to his arrest are yet to be revealed. He is due in court on April 16.

WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy fields questions from fans during the opening day of Wizard World Philadelphia 2017 in Philadelphia, PA on June 1, 2017.

However, he is yet to get back in the ring as he tries to get healthy for WrestleMania.

Hardy, a former World and Tag Team Champion best known as one half of The Hardy Boyz alongside his brother Matt Hardy, has been out of action in WWE since suffering a torn right rotator cuff in September. But it was not clear if Jeff Hardy had performed in that match or if WWE would edit him out, PWInsider reported.

It is unknown whether Hardy suffered any injuries as result of the accident, but it does not appear as if he was transported to a hospital as he was released from jail shortly after being booked. In 2008, he won the WWE's World Heavyweight Championship twice and the TNA World Heavyweight Championship three times.
