A butcher has allegedly chopped off his teenager son's hand while he was asleep following a tiff over the teenager's habit of watching films on a mobile phone, police said on Tuesday. His son is an assistant at a local cable television operator.

Despite repeated warnings from Qayyum, his son continued to watch porn videos.

Two days ago, the father and son again had a fight.

The incident took place in the Pahadi Shareef village outside the city of Hyderabad.

'The father has been booked under section 307 of Indian Penal Code (attempt to murder) and taken into custody, ' Reddy said. The family immediately rushed Khalid to a nearby hospital where they told them that the possibility of restoration of his hand was bleak.

According to a report published in the Hindustan Times, Qayyum has four children including two sons and Khalid is the elder of the two sons. Read Also: Sunjawan terror attack mastermind killed in J&K Recently, he bought a new smart phone to which he got addicted to watching movies and porn stuff.

But, he came back late in the night and remained watching something on his mobile even after the other family members went to bed.

The hand, slightly above the wrist, was severed with poor chances of recovery, the police said.
