Bill Murray makes surprise 'SNL' appearance as Steve Bannon
Armisen played the author as flippant about the truth of the tales in his sensational new book about the Trump White House.
For the few months in which he worked at the White House, Steve Bannon was portrayed on Saturday Night Live in a way that probably would have suited him just fine, as a cloaked figure in a grim reaper mask looming in the Oval Office.
During the cold-open for last night's Saturday Night Live, which didn't actually feature the show's host for the night Sam Rockwell (more on his hosting gig here), we were brought to MSNBC's early morning chat show Morning Joe.
Bannon then argued he's still not out of politics, and that he remains a "kingmaker".
Former "SNL" cast member Fred Armisen made a surprise appearance as Michael Wolff, the author of the controversial book about the early days of the Trump administration. New ventures for "The Bannon Cannon" include a skincare line called "Blotch" and a line of "wrinkled bar jackets" called "Frumpers".
He reminded viewers that he still posed a threat as a political meddler.
Murray's Bannon didn't let his moment go by without reminding everyone he was the one who convinced the country to elect Trump, though, and he threatened to "do it again".
Murray's Bannon did not stop there.
"I never said Don Jr., was treasonous, and I certainly never said he'd crack like an egg on TV", Murray's Bannon chastised Armisen's Wolff, before admitting, "Ok, that does sound like me, thank you, good reporting". Logan Paul. Martin Shkreli.
"It's time for America to slide down the Bannonster".
