Pochettino hails Levy's tough transfer talk

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Harry Kane can go on to break "all the records" in the Premier League.

Despite Kane scoring a brace, the Lilywhites' main man was without a doubt winger Heung-min Son.

They added a fourth goal with nine minutes remaining when Christian Eriksen rounded off an excellent attacking move from the London club.

"I'm so happy because these points give us the belief and confidence to fight with Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United for a place in the top four".

The Englishman doubled his tally for the afternoon on 59 minutes and while it was the prettiest goal he will score, it was the crucial record-breaker to make him Spurs' most prolific player in the Premier League era.

But with 26 minutes gone, Son timed everything right when Serge Aurier's scuffed shot fizzed across the box and he steered the ball home from close range.

The second half is where Spurs kicked it up a notch.

"The good thing is Jimmy Greaves' record (all-time top Tottenham league scorer with 220 goals) is far so not every week he is going to break something". The goal was rightfully ruled out for offside.

England striker Kane has now scored 20 times in the Premier League this season, three more than any other player, and has hit 28 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions.

With 22 minutes on the clock, the visitors thought they had taken the lead when new striker Cenk Tosun headed on a corner and Wayne Rooney pounced, only for him to be flagged for offside.

The Baggies secured their first top-flight win in 21 games with a 2-0 result against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

The former West Ham boss said that he would rather see the Blues at the end of Match of the Day than at the beginning after fuming at his players for having the audacity to try and score some goals during a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Spurs today.

Tottenham are without Harry Winks, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld but are expected to be unchanged from their last league outing.

Spurs eased in to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon last weekend but their focus will be firmly on Premier League matters tomorrow.

"What I can't excuse is out capitulation after we went 2-0 down".

Hopefully, I'll keep scoring, said a modest Harry Kane who looks poised to scale new landmarks in the coming year after starting 2018 on a brilliant note like the previous year.
