Iran calls fresh US sanctions illegal, hostile
The most prominent new name on the Treasury sanctions blacklist, which forbids Americans from doing business with the targets, is the head of Iran's judiciary, Sadegh Amoli Larijani.
According to Reuters, A German foreign ministry spokeswoman also said that Germany will consult with Britain and France on how to proceed in implementing the nuclear deal with Iran.
President Donald Trump gave European partners an ultimatum Friday to fix "significant flaws" in an Iranian nuclear agreement, or he will withdraw the United States from the deal in a few months' time.
New US legislation on Iran "must demand that Iran allow immediate inspections at all sites requested by global inspectors", Trumpsaid in a statement released by the White House.
"Trump's policy & today's announcement amount to desperate attempts to undermine a solid multilateral agreement, maliciously violating its paras 26, 28 & 29", Zarif said Friday on Twitter. The last time Trump issued a waiver was in September 2017.
But Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the 2015 deal could not be renegotiated.
The UN panel's report did not say Iran had supplied missiles to the Houthis.
The official also said that the president has made it clear that this is the "last such waiver" he intends to sign, putting pressure on Congress and the European Union to fix the flaws in the deal.
Iran says the missiles it has tested are not created to carry nuclear warheads and insists its nuclear programme is entirely peaceful.
The British and German foreign ministries said they had taken note of the decision and would confer with France before deciding on a course of action. Under the current deal they are set to expire in 2025.
He wrote that rather than repeating exhausted rhetoric, the USA must bring itself into full compliance just like Iran.
Russia, which is also a signatory to the JCPOA, said on Saturday the U.S. would be making a grave mistake by pulling out of Iran's nuclear deal and underlined Moscow's determination to keep the landmark accord intact.
China hopes the landmark agreement, which curbed Iran's nuclear enrichment program in exchange for sanctions relief, will be "universally supported" and the worldwide community will "fully recognize the efforts made by Iran to implement it". Trump will also demand Iran allow easier and more immediate access to global inspections of its nuclear sites. "Those who, for whatever reason, choose not to work with us will be siding with the Iranian regime's nuclear ambitions, and against the people of Iran and the peaceful nations of the world".
"The deal is a long-lasting victory for Iran", added Rouhani.
