Florida Mother Mistakenly Murdered in Love Triangle Gone Awry

3 arrested in Florida murder-for-hire plot in which wrong woman was killed

Ishnar Lopez Ramos Glorianmarie Quinones Montes and Alexis Jr. Ramos Rivera are all charged with first degree murder in the killing of Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres 42. The Kissimmee woman's body was found in Ormond Beach on Monday morning Jan. 8 2018

"I get enthusiastic in light of the fact that it just touches me so profoundly that one of our nationals was murdered in such a way finished mixed up character", Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson said.

The suspects took after the wrong lady out of the dim store and to her condo where they "coercively put the casualty into the back of her own vehicle, and afterward headed out", Gibson said.

The body of Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres was found in Ormond Beach Monday, Jan. 8 after she was reported missing.

Zengotita-Torres was bound and suffocated with garbage bags, Gibson said.

Ramos-Rivera and Montes continued to use Zengotita-Torres' cards after they dumped her body, prompting authorities to stake out ATMs in the area.

However, things turned awry when Lopez-Ramos, Ramos-Rivera, and Quinones-Montes apparently mistook Zengotita-Torres for the intended target.

Gibson said that's when Ramos and Rivera realized they had abducted the wrong person, but made a decision to continue with their plan.

According to investigators, Ishnar Lopez-Ramos allegedly hired Glorianmarie Quinones-Montes and Alexis Ramos-Rivera to kill a woman in a relationship with a man she loved.

Reports state that the suspects spotted Zengotita-Torres late Sunday night as she was leaving a store in Osceola County where she worked. "This mother, this wife, this daughter, for no reason at all", Gibson said, WESH reported.

Florida police say three suspects are in jail and an innocent woman is dead following a botched murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by a scorned lover.

"All three confirmed that this was a murder-for-hire and that the victim was mistakenly - again, mistakenly - targeted and murdered as being the person they thought was the intended victim", Gibson said. Detectives were able to identify the suspects after Ramos used the victim's debit card. Gibson said she was wearing Zengotita-Torres' clothing when she was arrested.

Following a progression of exchanges, police captured Lopez-Ramos, who drove them to the next two suspects for the situation.

"The heinous murder of one of our own citizens will not be tolerated in Osceola County", Gibson said.

Lopez Ramos is facing a first-degree murder charge.
