Canadiens Danault taken to hospital with head injury

Game Preview : Bruins (23-10-7) @ Canadiens (18-20-4)
Canadiens center Phillip Danault was carted off the ice on a stretcher after he was hit in the head by a slap shot from Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara. When he regained consciousness, he attempted to get back to his feet, but he collapsed after getting to his knees.
The Canadiens issued a statement during the third period that said: "Danault suffered a head injury".
The Bruins have played far better hockey this season than the Canadiens have - a change of pace from how most of the past few seasons have gone - and their next two matchups will be key for both teams. The Canadiens reported he was awake and moving at hospital.
Even when the B's stormed back with goals from Brad Marchand and Jake DeBrusk, an unassisted goal from Montreal's Nicolas Deslauriers and a power-play marker from Alex Galchenyuk just 3:06 apart in the second period brought you back down. Pacioretty had a couple of swipes at the loose puck before bouncing it off Tuukka Rask's skate.
Julien, who won a Stanley Cup as the Bruins head coach in 2013, was sacked after 56 games during the 2016-17 season while guiding the Bruins to a 26-23-6 record. Marchand got a step on Byron and converted a ideal pass from Patrice Bergeron.
Back and forth: The Bruins grabbed the lead for the first time when they took advantage of a sloppy line change and De Brusk was able to skate in alone and beat Carey Price at 2:55 of the second period.
Before being taken off the ice, Chara skated over to say a few words to the injured Montreal forward.
Galchenyuk took a diagonal feed from Jonathan Drouin in the right circle and beat Rask with a wrist shot under the crossbar on a power play at 8:51. It was his 11th of the season and the 100th of his career.
However, David Krejci tied the game 3-3 at 17:42 in the middle frame.
Squared up against Claude Julien's average-at-best club for the first time since he was sacked by the B's back in February 2017, Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask kicked a puck into his own net and put his team in an 0-1 hole at the 3:22 mark of the first period.
Coming attractions: This is the first of five games in eight nights for the Canadiens.
