Now The South Korean giant is planning to introduce the world's largest 88-inch 8K OLED display, according to Engadget. The improved frame rate helps with motion clarity, which is what you'll want if you're watching a lot of sports. LG says its ThinQ AI can spot problems with the appliances and help diagnose the issue and get it fixed via a local fix center - we reckon this could make an interesting post-purchase revenue stream.

That being said, this rollable LG OLED TV feature will certainly pave the way for adoption of similar technology in other consumer electronics segments - particularly smartphones.

Elsewhere, the majority of LG's Super UHD LCD 4K TVs have moved from edge-based local dimming to full-array local dimming.

LG Display is the sole large-size OLED manufacturer now, as Samsung has already shifted its focus to QLED TVs.

The prices and the availability details of the "rollable" TV have also not been revealed, making it clear that the appliance is still in the "prototype" stages. The display measures 65 inches in size. The new version is still created to cling to your wall and stuffs most of its hardware into the soundbar below. The centerpiece, as LG mentioned earlier, is AI: all three lines support deep learning and Google Assistant control to allow for natural language voice control over everything from the TV itself to smart home devices. Named "The Wall", the TV includes MicroLEDs that serve as their own source of light and don't require color filters or backlight. It's unlikely to be quite as good as OLED at displaying black on the screen, but it's good news for people not prepared to pay the high costs for OLED TVs.

One of the features LG have been able to implement using the rollable technology is having the TV operate in different formats.

Taking a page out of LG's pioneering work in using OLED displays to offer a brighter picture, Sony is also looking to make headway in that market with their 2018 line-up of TVs.

Additionally, the CES will witness an upgraded audio complexity of Crystal Sound OLED displays from the existing 2.1 channel sound to 3.1 channel from LG.
