State's online Professional MBA program ranks in top 40

"The Best Online Programs rankings offer adults the information needed to identify programs that best suit their life and career goals", Anita Narayan, managing editor of Education at U.S. News, said in a news release.

The Fox School attained other impressive returns from U.S. News & World Report's 2018 online rankings, which were released January 9. The University's off-campus graduate programs engage students in both their places of employment through either real-time or self-directed collaborative learning and use of real-time work projects - the click part of the equation - and on campus - the brick - through intense immersion experiences.

"Our school has been offering fully online programs since 2001", said Christine Kroll, PhD, assistant dean for online education in the Graduate School of Education. "Post's U.S. News Best Online Program rankings add yet another layer of distinction to our online education leadership across CT and the Northeast, as well as provide value for students seeking a program that meets their academic and career goals along with their personal schedule".

Students interested in pursuing a master's degree online have 15 nationally ranked programs to choose from at Missouri S&T. "This ranking reflects the hard work and ingenuity of the faculty members involved".

The College of Business' online programs (non-MBA) in management information systems and risk management and insurance moved up three spots to No. 6 in the latest report and placed No. 5 among public institutions.

"Our Online BBA is AACSB-accredited, offers six unique majors, and incorporates a live component during which students can interact with one another and their professors via weekly web-conferencing", Kapanjie said. Online Bachelor's of Arts are offered in psychology and social science. He added that providing constant, effective communication and support for students in the program is another key component to success. Students may also earn a Certificate in Gifted and Talented Education online, and new online certificate programs in Appreciative Inquiry/Philosophy for Children and Educational Assessment will be rolled out this spring and summer.

In addition, the online MBA was ranked fifth in the country with a score of 89, the same as previous year.

U.S. News assessed schools based on four general categories: student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, and peer reputation. Almost 1,500 distance education programs for bachelor's degrees as well as graduate programs in engineering, business, computer information technology, criminal justice, education, and nursing were evaluated. As the online market expands, we also are expanding our educational opportunities to meet the needs of tomorrow's business professional.
