More Details on Apple Pay Cash

08 December 2017, 12:31 | Jodi Jackson

Apple has published a new how-to video to teach iOS users the basics of Apple Pay Cash.

Apple has shared reports on their App Store support page showing statistics of their of their current devices and the percentages of which devices are using specific operating systems. The terms point out that Apple Pay Cash comprises two services: a virtual payment card and the funds transfer service. If not, a slider switch in the Wallet & Apple Pay section of Settings lets you enable Apple Pay Cash. Venmo and Google Wallet require you to open their separate apps to make payments; so that's a plus for Facebook and Apple, in that you access payments from an app you're probably using regularly already. Sometimes this option won't show up until it's been activated through the Wallet app, though. When you're ready to send the money, tap on "Pay". If you're using Apple's system and want to pay an Android user, you're going to have to hand over dirty old dollar bills, for now. Google Wallet, also available for iOS, adds the ability to split payments among multiple recipients.

If you receive money through Apple Pay Cash, you can spend that balance anywhere Apple Pay is accepted.

You'll be directed to the Settings app to confirm your information.

Apple refuses to confirm its arrangements from banks, noting that banks indicate Apple Pay has enabled them to expand transactions through more customer touchpoints since its introduction in October 2014.

To add money to your Apple Pay Cash balance, you can either wait for people to send you money through the service, or add funds yourself using a debit card. The process is identical for adding any other credit card to Apple Pay. That cash can be used for purchases or it can be transferred to a bank account.

If you don't have a debit card linked to Apple Pay Cash, you'll get a pop-up that says "Unable to Add Money", and you'll tap on "Add Card" to link a debit card.

Banks and processors contacted for this story referred all questions about Apple Pay Cash to Apple, which declined to comment on the toll banks pay for Apple Pay.

Using the iMessage app, Apple users can easily transfer money to other people, while the Wallet app will allow people to purchase from physical and online stores and transfer money to a bank account or from a debit or credit card. We could use it on Monday, but it's not available to everyone yet.

Apple has come up with the update for its yet another product, the watchOS 4.0.1, which means the update given by the company in this regard if for Series 3 Models With Fix for Cellular Bug. If you have a MacBook with Touch ID, you can use Apple Pay Cash, or you can connect an older Mac to your iPhone and pay that way.
