Ireland U21 global handed Everton debut in this evening's Europa League game

Sam Allardyce Manager of Everton argues with the fourth offical during the Premier League match between Everton and Huddersfield Town at Goodison Park

Craig Shakespear will take charge of the team but it is not a team that many fans will recognise, even Everton fans.

And so, a much-changed Everton side will take to the field for their last game in European competition this season.

With their chances of reaching the next round already gone and the Merseyside deby against Liverpool coming up on Sunday, Lavery is one of eight players in with a chance of making his first-team debut, named in the first team's match-day squad for the first time.

Harry Charsley debuts at left-back with a central midfield of Davy Klaassen who made it to the final of the competition a year ago and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Everton have a long way to go before they can compete with Liverpool, both on the pitch and financially.

Northern Ireland Under 21 worldwide Shayne Lavery has been named on the bench for Everton's final Europa League group game this evening.

Alex Denny also got on in injury time. With defenders in short supply, he may be asked to fulfil a similar role at the Tsirio Stadium on Thursday evening.

Fraser Hornby - Strong in the air and with a keen eye for goal, Hornby was a star performer for the Blues' Under-18s last season.

He has gone with an experimental side for the game and there are other Ireland-eligible players on the substitutes bench.

It's been a quite frankly bad European campaign for Everton, who have taken just one point from a possible 15 in this year's competition. This team is doing well in the domestic competition and at home, I think they will fancy a win over Everton.
