TVS Apache RR 310 launched at Rs 2.05 lakh

The all new Apache RR 310 will surely create a benchmark in the market.

After a wait of nearly two years since the Akula concept was unveiled, TVS has finally launched the manufacturing version called the TVS RR 310 in India. It also shares alloy wheels with its BMW badged sibling, which come shod with wide tubeless tires (110/70 front and 150/60 raise).

Top officials, while speaking at the world premiere, in Chennai, said the RR will soon be made available at an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.05 lakh but would vary across states.

First teased as the "Akula" - meaning shark in Russian - two years ago, the Apache RR 310 has been designed with an eye to track performance, and draws on the company's 35 years of track experience. Being one of the most crucial bikes for TVS, the company has put in some serious man hours, putting the RR through a number of tests like the wind tunnel test for aerodynamics and track tests on multiple circuits in order to ideal its riding dynamics and handling characteristics.

Homegrown two-wheeler major TVS has forayed into the super-premium segment, launching the much-awaited Apache RR 310 on Wednesday.

The Apache RR 310 has been equipped with twin LED headlamps and LED DRLs that give it a mean grin, sitting below a large windscreen. The transmission duties would be done by a 6-speed gearbox.

The front sprocket size has been altered from 16 teeth on the BMW to 17 teeth on the Apache.

The motorcycle TVS RR 310 is launched in two impressive colours, Racing Red and Sinister Black. In view of a trellis outline, the Apache RR 310 measures 169.5kg and claims a 0-60kmph run time of only 2.93 seconds. The front gets berry transformed forks and the back comes suspended on a monoshock with gliding cylinder. The ground clearance is also decent at 180mm. TVS Apache RR 310 Flagship Sports Bike has been the long-awaited model.

The fully-faired Apache RR 310 competes against the likes of the successful KTM RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R3, Benelli 302 R, Bajaj Dominar and the upcoming Hero HX250.
