A prayer vigil for immigrant children who came to the country illegally but have status protections under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program set to expire in March is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at Fountain Park in downtown Rock Hill.

Five House Republicans from Pennsylvania are among almost three-dozen GOP lawmakers asking House Speaker Paul Ryan to hold a vote this month on legislation dealing with the fate of 800,000 people who were brought to the US illegally when they were children.

Just one month ago, 23 percent of swing voters said DACA amnesty was a "top priority" for Congress, as Breitbart News reported, revealing a three percent decline in support by Independents for amnesty.

Since the Trump Administration's announcement to rescind the program, I've gained faith in the bipartisan work Congress has done to pass a long-term fix like the Dream Act.

Gov. Rick Snyder's administration is renewing its push to keep thousands of young undocumented immigrants in MI as Democrats in Congress try to use budget talks to renew a version of a program that protected them.

As NAE's iMarch for Immigration is underway, lawmakers in Washington continue negotiations for a solution over the 1.3 million recipients of DACA. Colcom's founder, Cordelia Scaife May, the late oil heiress, believed nature was being assailed by overpopulation and left more than $400 million to her foundation with the goal of dramatically restricting and expelling immigrants from the U.S. Today, almost half of her fortune is spent on this work, which includes deporting people like me from the only country we have ever known.

"I was a year old", Randy Huerta said.

Meanwhile, an overwhelming majority of Americans support protecting the Dreamers. Collins said she expects that a vote will be held in the Senate. "I dreamed of becoming a pilot and didn't learn I was undocumented until the recruiter told me because of my status I wasn't eligible".

"Now is our time in Congress to lead with justice, mercy, and compassion for DACA recipients", said Taylor.

"We are compelled to act immediately because many DACA recipients are about to lose or have already lost their permits in the wake of the program's rescission", the House Republicans said in their letter.

In a statement of his own, Poliquin said, "Congress has waited far too long to act on serious border security and to implement an effective system to control who enters our county". "We care for our families and that's the foundation of what this country is all about".
