Westworld and SWAT Reboot Suspend Filming Due to Wildfires

'SWAT' and 'Westworld' Halt Production Due to California Wildfires

A wildfire in southern California stalled the production of the CBS drama series S.W.A.T. andHBO's Westworld on Tuesday.

Los Angeles County is now facing two major fires as of Tuesday: the 11,000-acre Creek Fire and the 1,000-acre Rye Fire. 'Safety of cast and crew come first. Nobody from the show seems to be in danger, although there's no saying when production will be able to resume.

A representative at Sony Pictures Television, the studio behind "S.W.A.T.", also confirmed the production delay to CNN. Jerry Brown, governor of Ventura County, has declared a state of emergency in the area.

"S.W.A.T." films at Santa Clarita Studios in Valenica, California, about 40 miles north of Los Angeles. As a result, the 5 Freeway closed, impacting traffic on the major roads.

Richard Macklin, the spokesman for Ventura CountyCB Fire Department, admitted that it has been very hard to stop the wildfires. "We're in a wind-driven fire event", said Macklin. The employee added that the fire could be seen from the studio offices. However, a few water-dropping helicopters have already reached the scene.

"Westworld" Season 2 is still filming for its premiere in spring 2018 on HBO. "Westworld" Season 2 should still arrive this spring on HBO. The cast and crew of the series brought home five Emmy awards.
