What Shashi Kapoor Told Govinda When They Starred In 1986 Film Ilzaam
The global news channel BBC10 has apologised after it aired Amitabh Bachchan's images while reporting the death news of legendary actor, Shashi Kapoor. His most memorable roles were in films such as "Jab Jab Phool Khile" (Whenever The Flowers Bloom, 1965), "Kabhi Kabhie" (Sometimes, 1976), and "Kalyug" (Age of Downfall, 1981). His death on December 4 is a loss to the entire Bollywood film industry.
Hang on @bbcnewsShashi Kapoor has died not Amitabh Bachan or Rishi Kapoor, who you've weirdly used to illustrate the story.
However, their mistake got the huge criticism from the social media users uptill then.
@BBC must apologize! Clearly they have no clue. It's poor when it would have taken them seconds to verify. And finally, BBC rendered an apology by issuing a statement which said, "BBC News at Ten is very sorry the wrong images were used to mark the death of Shashi Kapoor. Not our usual standards and I apologise for any upset".
An Indian television news channel too mistakenly tweeted the demise of Congress politician Shashi Tharoor, while reporting on Kapoor's death on Monday. They also apologised later on.
The Kapoor family's ancestral home is located in Kissa Khwani Bazaar of Peshawar's old city in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province and was built by Raj and Shashi Kapoor's grandfather in 1918.
