The Unicode Consortium has outlined all of the new emoji that are in the pipeline for 2018.

This beta release marks one step closer to toward a softball emoji, as well as a cupcake, redheads, bagel or kangaroo.

The changes in this new beta list of emojis includes making superhero and supervillain smiley faces into human-form emoji.

The draft emoji 11.0β Charts now show the candidates in context: for example, Emoji Ordering, v11.0β shows the sorting of all the emoji, with the candidates highlighted with rounded-rectangles.

The list of emoji characters was renamed to Emoji 11 instead of 6 to connect it to further versions of the entire Unicode standard.

"Emoji with glyphs that face to the right or left may face either direction, according to vendor preference", reads a new section of the document.

In addition to the new figures themselves, Unicode 11 also proposes support for reversible emoji. The decisions of the 2017Q4 UTC meeting for emoji have been incorporated into the draft Charts, Specification, and Data, and are now available for testing and feedback.
