Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez is reportedly closing in on a move to Real Madrid, although a Bernabeu star would have to be sold first for that to happen.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Granit Xhaka and Per Mertesacker attended Whittington Hospital, alongside Arsenal Women's stars Heather O'Reilly and Alex Scott.

However, the Gunners showed in the summer that they would do business with City, only reneging on an agreement to sell him once a deal to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco fell through.

The former Gunners midfielder told Paddy Power: "Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are coming back to the way they should be playing for Arsene Wenger".

It is now understood that the Arsenal winger sarcastically asked Herrera "who are you?" before the pair continued their shouting match.

The Mirror reported earlier this week that Sterling, who turns 23 on Friday (8 December), wants to put contract talks on hold to focus on helping City to win the title and on maintaining his form ahead of the World Cup.

Petit feels Arsenal are capable of challenging for a top-four finish, with there plenty of positives to take from their last Premier League outing against Manchester United despite suffering a 3-1 defeat. The way they played with desire and offensive flair reminded me of how we used to play.

However, Arsenal boss Wenger believes Ozil's form is a by-product of his return to full fitness after an injury-hit start to the 2017-18 Premier League season.

Arsenal now sit fifth in the English top flight on 28 points from 15 matches, one point behind fourth-placed Liverpool.
