Black Mirror is boldly going where other sci-fi shows have gone before, and frankly, we're suspicious.

This is Black Mirror though, so something must go awry, and there's a hint of this in the trailer when Milioti's crew member drops out of character.

"USS Callister" will be the fourth episode in the six episode season and will be 74-minutes long. Given that it's Black Mirror, probably the latter.


- "Arkangel", directed by Jodie Foster (Money Monster, The Silence of the Lambs) and starring Rosemarie Dewitt (La La Land, Mad Men), Brenna Harding (A Place to Call Home), Owen Teague (Bloodline). Executive producer Annabel Jones also said while the episode pays homage to Star Trek at its core is about "tyranny and abuse of power".

- "Black Museum", directed by Colm McCarthy (The Girl with All the Gifts) and starring Douglas Hodge (The Night Manager, Catastrophe), Letitia Wright (Humans, Ready Player One), Babs Olusanmokun (Roots, The Defenders). Of course, that immediately makes us think about how that might apply to him, not to mention her. Of course, that usually ends up being a bad thing in the Black Mirror universe.

They come for the episodes titled "Hang the DJ", "Metalhead" and "U.S.S. Callister". Starring Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole, and George Blagden, this episode puts the focus on online dating and appears to focus on an app that either predicts or decides for you when it's time to get intimate.

But rather than William Shatner's Captain Kirk helming the USS Callister, we see Captain Daly (Jesse Plemons AKA Meth Demon) in charge and applauded by the crew (Jesse Plemons, Jimmi Simpson and Michaela Coel) of the titular starship. There are obviously more unsettling, poignant and slightly more melancholic moments, but at the same time, it is a romp.
