Blizzard Launches Overwatch League Skins to Support the Professional Players

By choosing to purchase a skin through these means, regular players can support their favorite teams.

In the announcement, Nanzer noted that Overwatch has already announced the concept at Blizzcon and it will be effective early next year for all the team players in Overwatch League.

Blizzard will be introducing all 12 Overwatch League in-game uniforms as purchasable skins that will directly support the inaugural season teams. With the addition of unique team-colored ability particles, the Overwatch League team introduced similar home-and-away jerseys for each team. It's one of the first esports leagues to introduce location-based teams in the same vein as traditional sports, and Overwatch players will soon be able to show their support for their hometown with special skins. Also, as this system is launched, Blizzard wants to be generous. Blizzard created a new type of in-game currency specially for these items, called League Tokens. The cost of the Overwatch League uniform skins is unknown at the moment, as is the percentage of sales that goes directly to Overwatch League teams. He did not say, however, whether players will be able to unlock more tokens through MLG-calibre plays of their own, or if they will only be able to buy them.

Of course, one of the major features in the Overwatch League is the teamplay.

The Overwatch League preseason will start on December 6, in preparation for the highly anticipated launch on January 10, 2018.

The Dallas Fuel, Los Angeles Gladiators, Los Angeles Valiant, San Francisco Shock, Seoul Dynasty, the Shanghai Dragons make up the Pacific Division, while the Boston Uprising, Florida Mayhem, Houston Outlaws, London Spitfire, New York Excelsior, and Philadelphia Fusion form the Atlantic Division.
