Kremlin dismisses ex-CIA chief's assumptions that Trump 'was intimidated' by Putin

RUSSIA-MEDIA-RT

"I believe that he feels that he and Russian Federation did not meddle in the election", Trump said Sunday in Hanoi. We agreed with Trump on that subject, and still do. "Every time he sees me, he says, 'I didn't do that.' And I believe, I really believe, that when he tells me that, he means it".

But once again, in that same answer, Trump chose to empathize with Putin, even suggesting that the USA ought to consider pulling back on sanctions imposed on Russian Federation. Asia-Pacific leaders would have pressed him for confirmation and elaboration on the report.

U.S. journalists believe that President Trump will continue avoiding full-fledged meetings with Putin while Robert Muller continues investigating so-called "secret ties" of Trump's election headquarters with the Russian administration during the presidential race in 2016. I asked him again. He believes that Putin doesn't think Russian Federation meddled - but Trump himself believes the intelligence community.

It's not that hard to summon up images of our president ignoring reports from his own intelligence agencies about threats to our democracy, with possibly dire results.

In February, when Bill O'Reilly pointed out to Trump that Putin is "a killer", the president replied: "There are a lot of killers".

Finally President Trump and President Putin confirmed the importance of de-escalation areas as an interim step to reduce violence in Syria, enforce ceasefire agreements, facilitate unhindered humanitarian access, and set the conditions for the ultimate political solution to the conflict.

After going through this, Matthews asked Speier why Trump has a "bromance" with Putin, which he said is "resistant to change".

"The nation-state remains the best vehicle for elevating the human condition", Trump said, just the sort of message that dictators like Putin have been wanting to hear from the United States for decades.

Trump, Source C continues, even offered to defend Bill Clinton during impeachment proceedings: "He said he did not inhale". They were sanctioned at a very high level, and that took place very recently. "This is the exact issue that people within his own administration have that, in this political context when his campaign, so many people within the campaign are facing an investigation about what happened with Russian Federation during the election, it would be so much simpler if the president would just come out and say Russian Federation obviously interfered with our election and we're going to investigate that and stop them from doing it going forward, and i'll tell that to Vladimir Putin's face". Vladimir Putin does not have America's interests at heart. "They (Russia) have been at this a hell of a long time".

A USA intelligence official told VOA there has been no change to the assessment about Russia's efforts to influence last year's election.

The White House national security staff consists of people whose grasp on American diplomacy is far firmer than the president's, and one hopes they're directing American policy to a greater extent than the president's words would imply. "The President is not the chairman of the board of elections in this country", Kellyanne Conway remarked to Martha Raddatz on ABC News' This Week.

The Presidents' statement is posted to the State Department website and on the Kremlin website.

It's time for any remaining Trump supporters to take a little quiet time and think carefully about patriotism and morality. They don't (openly) say collusion is real, but it's awkward enough that they claim Moscow engaged in efforts to help the president win. If they don't, his successor may have occasion to remark that Russian Federation has never had a better friend than Trump.
