Kashmir: Two militants killed in encounter

A gunfight has erupted between militants and forces in Lam area of Tral in southern part of Kashmir's Pulwama district.

Officials said that troops of Rashtriya Rifles along with Special Operation Group were patrolling Zachaldara area when militants fired on the forces. "He may have done some diploma course, but not BTech", the DIG said, adding that Mudasir had joined militancy in 2015.

The slain militant, he said, was a B. Tech pass-out and was associated with Hizb.

An overnight cordon-and-search-operation (CASO) launched by government forces in Lam forests of Tral in south Kashmir's Pulwama district ended here on Tuesday after over twenty-hours.

Authorities have suspended internet service in Baramulla district fearing it would mobilize crowds. Railway services were disrupted in Kulgam and Anantnag.

A hideout of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit was busted in the operation, said the official.
