Giants' owners: Despite 'extremely disappointing season,' Ben McAdoo has support

That came just a few days after two players anonymously told ESPN's Josina Anderson that McAdoo, just midway through his second year as head coach, had lost his team and players have given up on the season. McAdoo admitted afterwards he was outcoached. Why? He wanted to see whether the Giants would show any pride (they didn't), and during his WFAN morning show in NY, he likened the game to "car crash TV". TE Evan Engram has a touchdown reception in each of the last four games, the longest streak by a Giant since WR Rueben Randle had one in each of the final four games of 2015.

There has also been enough drama to validate his belief that a head coach puts out fires on a daily basis.

After excoriating the Giants secondary's effort in their Week 9 loss to the Rams, NBC's Rodney Harrison on "Football Night in America" singled out cornerback Janoris Jenkins for his lack of effort.

"We're not a good team right now", linebacker Jonathan Casillas said.

"What situation?" McAdoo said emphatically.

"His desire to finish consistently needs to show up, and we need to get the guys on the ground", McAdoo said.

Co-owners John Mara and Steve Tisch released a statement Monday afternoon that McAdoo would remain their coach, at least until the end of the season. But, you know, that's the truth.

The WFAN host has previously gone after McAdoo for his postgame press conferences in which he gives answers like needing to watch the game film before answering.

I asked the the Giants player if he wanted to go on the record.

It's unlikely to happen if the results continue at their current pace. His partner Mike Golic agreed, then warned that the next Giants coach/GM will review game tape and decide who needs to be shipped out of NY.

General manager Jerry Reese made a calculated risk to keep a weak offensive line together in hopes that the blockers would blossom. They've lost their past three games by a combined 61 points.

Justin Pugh played half a game in his return from a sore back and may miss an even more extended period after aggravating it Sunday. "It's a worthless practice unless you get to the point where you just can't look at the coach anymore or he's just such a negative and such a downer that he just brings everybody down". It's the players who are on the field. "You make them defend the whole field and you put guys in more of an advantageous (position)". "It doesn't matter what scheme you're in".

McAdoo went 11-5 in his first year as Giants head coach and helped end a five-year playoff drought.

"When Giants coach Ben McAdoo got to the bus, he was admitted on board without incident".
