The New 'Fifty Shades' Book FINALLY Has A Release Date

And following the first novel, E L James added to the collection with Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. "Writing this novel has been a journey of discovery, and I hope readers will find what I've learned as compelling as I did". James said in a statement that the new book would give readers a "darker and more haunted" take on Christian. "It's been a great pleasure to return to my happy place-writing, being with Christian and Ana in their universe, and working with the fantastic team at Vintage". That's right. Fifty Shades Darker, except as told by Christian rather than Ana, is on the way.

Author E.L. James made the big announcement via Instagram on Tuesday.

If you're looking for something to tide you over until Fifty Shades Freed is released in cinemas next year, here it is: a new book will be in stores very soon!

In an analysis of the first book (and subsequent film), researchers said the relationship was based on intimate partner violence, meaning emotional abuse and coercion were present in every single interaction between Ana and Christian. "Fifty Shades Darker" earned 378.8 million in the country alone.

A third film taken from the third book, Fifty Shades Freed, is set to premiere in the U.S. on February 9, 2018. The film also stars Marcia Gay Harden as Christian's mom, Grace, Rita Ora as Christian's sister, Mia, Kim Basinger as Christian's former submissive, Elena, Eloise Mumford as Anastasia's former roommate, Kate, Eric Johnson as Christian's nemesis, Jack, and more.

Once again, E L James is letting Christian Grey speak for himself.
