Chance the Rapper live streamed a recent police stop in case it got “out of hand.”

On Sunday, Chance the Rapper streamed Chicago police via Instagram - telling viewers he was doing it in case the stop went "sideways".

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that almost 7 million of the Grammy Award-winner's Instagram followers watched. In the video, Chance can be seen in the passenger seat while his daughter's mother Kirsten Corley is in the driver's seat. Should be good though.

The woman asks Chance if he's livestreaming the stop. He stated that while he didn't have any weapons or drugs in the vehicle, "policing as a system is disproportionately racist and oppressive". "I ain't got no [gun] in the vehicle, no drugs in the auto".

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Illinois State Police confirmed the auto was stopped for a moving violation and was issued a warning. "Should be good, though", he said. Watch the livestream of Chance's encounter with police, below.

Just a few hours after he was stopped, Chance shared a photo of himself hanging out with fellow Chicago-bred rapper Kanye West and comedian Dave Chappelle after the trio sat down for lunch. However, the police officer only issued a warning. The three of them were returning from church when an officer made a decision to pull them over during a traffic stop. During the stream, he said he was streaming it just in case the traffic stop went "sideways".

Corley was pulled over for a moving violation and given a warning, the paper reports.

Later in the video, Chance says he has "big faith" in the "men and women that put on the uniform".
