Attacks On Mental Health Workers On The Rise

Peace of Mind conference fills nearly every seat
United Kingdom research found that treating insomnia with online cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) could in turn help treat mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, and paranoia.
Older people also tend to find it more hard to talk about their mental health, as it was a more stigmatised topic when they were growing up, as depression and anxiety were often seen as a sign of weakness.
The report from Badenoch & Clark, part of the Adecco Group, surveyed 1,027 workers to find out what employers could do to create a more positive attitude towards mental health challenges in the workplace.
Almost half of UK adults aged over 55 say they have experienced depression, according to a YouGov survey carried out for Age UK, highlighting the scale of the mental health challenge facing this age group.
"We are asking people to talk about mental health, but this must be matched with an ability to listen compassionately and act appropriately".
"We want to turn management's attention to this blind spot", he said, adding there is more stigma attached to the words mental health than there is wellbeing.
Many previous studies have also shown how access to nature and green spaces can benefit health, with a 2015 study of USA adults findings that men in particular and those age 65 and above sleep better when they have access to nature, with better sleep linked to a lower risk of depression. A third of those surveyed by The Hoxby Collective said they suffered mental health problems as a direct result of working rigid hours, including stress, anxiety, depression and insomnia. While these rates are relatively stable, the absences from the workplace because of mental illness have been increasing steadily over the past decades.
At least one million volunteers will be trained to give mental health first aid as part of a Government drive to improve care.
Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt said: 'We're now undergoing one of the biggest expansions in mental health services in Europe, but we need everyone - not just the NHS - to play a role.
"It is understandable if a lot of older people, having seen so much and having experienced so many ups and downs through life, take the view that feeling depressed or anxious is just something they have to put up with, not illnesses that are just as deserving of a proper medical response as a physical problem like a chest infection or a leg ulcer", Abrahams continued.
The Foundation have published a guide (https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/publications/how-support-mental-health-work) and are calling on people to use it to make their workplaces more "mentally friendly".

In 1962 and 1963 he led the National Football League in touchdown passes and was named All-Pro each season, at ages 36 and 37. At age 34, nobody would've been astounded if Tittle's vocation went downhill in NY , yet that is not what happened.

Should Britt sit, Rashard Higgins and Ricardo Louis would be the only 2 active receivers that were with the team in training camp. I surmised a breakout game for Bilal Powell and did he ever deliver, rushing for 163 yards and a touchdown. "We were struggling.
