Zimmer "anticipates" Bradford will start on MNF vs. Bears

Chicago Bears quarterback Mike Glennon hands the ball to running back Jordan Howard, during the first half of an NFL football gam against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday Sept. 17 2017 in Tampa Fla

The Vikings were 1-2 with Case Keenum as a starter, with mixed results against the Steelers, Bucs and Lions.

Apparently, Bradford's recovery has progressed enough for him to start for the Vikings in their Week 5 matchup on Monday night with the Chicago Bears. If what Zimmer said is true, then Bradford has finally reached a point where he will be able to manage the pain.

In his only game this year, Bradford threw for 346 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.4-percent of his passes, picking up where he left off after a 2016 season in which he led the National Football League in completion percentage. He was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

His return comes at a time where the Vikings' overall health at quarterback might be improving in another area.

Also, CBS reported Sunday that injured quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is due to come off the physically unable to perform list next week, when he is first eligible, and begin practicing. Bridgewater, who dislocated his left knee and tore his ACL last August 30, has been making solid progress in his rehab from the injury and has steadily increased his workload in hopes of a return.

It has been three weeks since Sam Bradford has suited up for the Minnesota Vikings this season.
